Lifecycle
How Cells are created, activated, and deleted.
since 0.1.0-beta
A Cell moves through a simple lifecycle:
| State | Description |
|---|---|
| Created | Metadata is registered; no data exists yet. |
| Active | The Cell has received traffic and holds an open database / cache. |
| Idle | Not requested for a while; resources are released. Data stays durable. |
| Deleted | The Cell and its data are removed (with backups kept, if any exist). |
Key behaviors:
- Creating a Cell is cheap.
createis strict (a used name fails with 409); useensurefor idempotent get-or-create. - An idle Cell costs nothing — the next request re-activates it.
- Deleting a Cell is destructive; take a backup first if needed.
